Sausage Puffs with Cheese Dip

Ingredients
  

  • 2-3 sheets of frozen puff pastry
  • 200 g wheel of brie cheese
  • 1 pkt Dan & Steph Three Aussie Farmer Farmhouse Sausages
  • 1 free range egg beaten
  • 2 tsp black & white sesame seeds
  • 2 rashers of bacon finely diced
  • small amount of fresh thyme
  • 1-2 tbs 100% pure maple

Notes

  1. Preheat oven to 220 degrees C & line a baking tray with baking paper
  2. Place a piece of puff onto the tray & then the unwrapped the cheese & carefully cut off the top mould & place the cheese in the middle
  3. With the piece of puff that’s under the cheese – use a sharp knife & cut the pastry from the cheese to the edge – making 4 equal wedges – now in each wedge cut 3 more strips in each so you have 12 strips of pastry
  4. Place a piece of sausage on the end of a puff strip & then roll it towards the cheese – repeat with the remaining sausage pieces & puff strips
  5. With the other piece of puff, cut it in half then into 6 equal strips on each side
  6. Wrap a piece of sausage in each & then tuck it next to the existing next to the cheese – repeat until complete
  7. Brush the puff with the beaten egg then sprinkle with the sesame seeds, bacon pieces & place the thyme on the cheese
  8. Bake for 20mins then turn the oven down to 200 degrees C for another 10mins until the pastry is golden – when done, remove from oven & rest for 10mins
  9. Sprinkle over the extra bacon pieces, extra thyme & drizzle with maple
